No CPD Payment nor Penalties for Late Audit Report!

In her budget vote address, Minister Sisulu announced Covid-19 impact relief measures for property practitioners that include no penalties for late submission of audit reports until 31 October 2020.

After extensive lobbying we are pleased to report that CPD fees will also be waived for the 2020 financial year.  The EAAB will publish the relevant details before 31 July 2020.

We will have to wait for EAAB notification for information iro agents who have already paid.

A New Board

The Minister has called for a final report from the current board members and a call for nominations for a new board for the EAAB/PPRA will be advertised shortly.

Property Practitioners Act and Regulations

The Regulations to the Property Practitioners Act will be published this year to enable the operation of the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) which replaces the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB).

Rebosa has provided extensive comments on the Regulations and we look forward to a speedy finalisation.

2021 FFCs

The EAAB are unfortunately experiencing problems with their IT system resulting in agents being unable to renew 2021 FFCs online.  We are waiting for a response from the EAAB in this regard.

It is recommended that renewals be done asap.

SSETA: Further Extension of Submission of Mandatory Grant Applications 2020/2021

A further extension for the submission of the 2020/2021 financial year mandatory grant applications has been granted to 31 July 2020.

SSETA’s Learner Management Information System (LMIS) is now open for companies that did not submit, to submit their annual mandatory grant applications.

Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP)

The Minister stated that the banking sector has expressed renewed energy and commitment to the FLISP programme.  FLISP supports bank finance to first time buyers.  This provides further opportunities for property practitioners operating in the affordable housing market.  Further information can be found on the website www.flisp.co.za
