Dear Colleagues
2022 FFC Renewals – SEVEN DIGITS ONLY
Effective 1 July 2021 we can apply for our 2022 Fidelity Fund Certificates. All transactions regarding FFC renewals need to be done online via the MyEAAB portal https://www.eaab.org.za/myffc/login. Information relating to FFC renewals can be found on the Rebosa website by accessing the following link (https://www.rebosa.co.za/notification-fidelity-fund-certificate-renewals-for-2022/)
Please only use unique EAAB seven digit reference number ONLY (don’t add name, surname etc.) as the bank beneficiary/reference when making payment (EFT or Credit Card) for your 2022 FFC renewal. The EAAB system cannot allocate payments with incorrect bank beneficiary/reference numbers or numbers including anything but the 7 digits.
Using an incorrect reference number will simply result in you not receiving your FFC until your payment can be traced which could take months.
If you have still NOT received your 2021 FFC for any reason please advise us URGENTLY so that we may assist. You will not be issued with a 2022 FFC if you have not been issued with your FFC for the current year. Please send your queries to info@rebosa.co.za and include your full name (as it appears on your FFC), ID number and your EAAB 7 digit reference number in order for us to fully assist.
CPD Extension
The EAAB have extended the deadline for the acquisition of CPD points to 31 August 2021 due to technical glitches they are experiencing with their system.
The 2021 CPD programme has not been finalised and has not been uploaded to the MyCPD portal – don’t expect availability before Nov/Dec.
If your CPD 2020 payment has not been allocated to the 2021 CPD cycle and you still do not have access to your e-learning platform please send an email to Nomlindi Gxasheka on email address nomlindi.gxasheka@eaab.org.za to have the matter resolved.
POPIA
This serves as a reminder that the Protection of Personal Information Act (often called the POPI Act or POPIA) came into full force and effect on 1 July 2021. Guidelines and a manual designed specifically for Property Practitioners can be downloaded from Rebosa’s website https://www.rebosa.co.za/popi-estate-agent-practice-manual/ Additional information can be found on the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act) website https://popia.co.za/
The Department of Justice are experiencing technical problems with their portal resulting in the deadline for the registration of Information Officers and Deputy Information Officers being put aside until further notice. Registration forms can still be emailed manually. Additional information can be found directly on the website https://www.justice.gov.za/inforeg/portal.html
Audit Report Submission Deadline
The EAAB deadline for submission of audit reports for firms with a 28 February 2021 financial year was due on Wednesday 30 June 2021. We urge all members to remain compliant. If you have not submitted your audit report for whatever reason you need to do as immediately as you will not be issued with your 2022 FFC and risk being deregistered. Once a firm is deregistered it is exceptionally difficult to rectify and could take years.
Real Estate Health and Safety Measures during Covid-19
As South Africa finds itself in the midst of an escalating third wave Covid-19 infections and a move to adjusted alert level 4, safety is a major concern. Estate Agents may continue to operate, but must do so in accordance with strict health and safety measures – as set out in the sector-specific health protocols – which ensures safe and responsible trading by estate agents.
These health and safety measures and guidelines can be found on Rebosa’s website by accessing the following link (https://www.rebosa.co.za/rebosa-guidance-on-real-estate-operations-under-the-latest-restrictions-agents-urged-to-follow-strict-covid-19-protocols/)
For your own safety and the safety of your clients we urge you to follow these procedures to the letter.
